The Parks Foundation, IslandWood and the Park District are teaming up for a grand opening celebration the afternoon of March 18.

We’ll start with a reception in IslandWood’s Great Hall at 2pm, then head out to the trail for a hike through 4pm.

The celebration event is free and open to the public, but we’re asking that you please RSVP so we can plan refreshments.

The Good Karma Bluesical

This is a multimedia Blues & Blues Rock Experience to benefit the BPA Theatre School.

The Good Karma Blues band plays high energy electric blues and blues rock. Band members Michael Almodovar (drummer), Joe Van Dyke (lead guitarist/singer), Mike Lisagor (harmonica player/singer), Elray Konkel (bass guitarist/singer), and Jordan Petri (keyboard player/singer) will be joined by vocalist Shannon Dowling and the BPA Theatre School youth singers.

Expect Delays In February!

bridgeThe Agate Pass Bridge has scheduled its annual cleaning in February.

The work will begin Feb. 12 and run through Feb. 15 from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Beginning Feb. 20, crews will work for 11 consecutive days until       March 2.  During those days, work will take place from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and from 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 24-25

 YOU ARE INVITED to attend the Critical Areas Ordinance Workshop, which is an open public meeting.  Public comment will not be accepted during this meeting in order to give Council time to discuss the topic.  City Council will not take final action on the Critical Areas Ordinance at this meeting.  Any future action will be scheduled for a City Council Business Meeting, and public comment will be accepted at that time.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit written questions at this workshop.  Staff will collect and review these and will provide answers to these questions in a written document following the workshop.

Start the New Year with Disaster Preparedness Training!

Bainbridge Prepares

is partnering with Empact Northwest and the City of Bainbridge Island to host a series of family preparedness classes.  Each class, held twice a month will be 90 minutes long, intended on educating participants in individual and family disaster preparedness so that you and your family will better survive a disaster should one occur.  Skills gainde in this class will include assembling a 72 hour survival bag, family reunification planning, and neighborhood mapping know how.
