Partner Meeting Recap- July

Many thanks to Cheryle Elmquist and Christopher Ortiz for heading up the July Partner Meeting at BIMA. If you were unable to attend the meeting, we hope you will make the next one! Just a reminder; the next Partner Meetings will be September 21 and November 16. Meetings are held the third Wednesday, every other month.  A few highlights from the July meeting:

Steve Johnson, co-chair of Island Power, discussed alternatives to PSE and whether public power is right for Bainbridge Island.

Jon Rose, President of Olympic Property Group, laid out the plan for the Bainbridge Landing project to be built behind Harbor Square as well as introducing an idea for a sculpture walk that would wind through downtown.

Nicole Niehaus (Sweet Deal) gave an update on August Block Party preparations.

Karin Lehotsky announced new dates for the Sidewalk Sale, August 5, 6, and 7. This is being promoted on the BIDA Facebook page and we encourage you to share it on social media.

Art Walk; keep an eye out for the blasts which are sent a few weeks before each Art Walk, asking for participants. Please also let us know whether you would simply like to be permanently on the list of participants.

Council member Wayne Roth talked about “Bainbridge Prepares”, a three-day emergency preparedness event which will be held September 28 – October 1.
