Trick or Treat Downtown Bainbridge Events

trickortreatTrick-or-Treat Downtown, an all-ages Island tradition, continues this year on Monday, October 31st, from 4:00–6:00pm on Winslow Way in downtown Bainbridge.   Winslow Way merchants join the festivities as thousands of masked superheroes, pirates, fairy princesses, and storybook characters descend on downtown for two hours of Halloween fun. Winslow Way will be open for pedestrian traffic only during the hours of 4:00-6:00 p.m. Spooktacular events are set throughout downtown, as shopkeepers up and down Winslow Way will be open to greet ghouls of all ages. The City of Bainbridge Island will also be joining in on the fun this year and opening City Hall for trick-or-treaters.

Face Painting: Before heading to the Downtown Trick-or-Treat, stop by the KiDiMu to finish off your Halloween look by getting your face painted! Drop by between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Free with admission or membership. Just up the street trick-or-treaters will find another great Halloween tradition, Cook Family Funeral Home’s annual “Haunted Apple Juice Booth.” The booth will be located at the head of Madrone Lane.

Hungry trick-or-treaters should be sure not to miss the annual Hot Dog and Chili Feed, 4:30–6:30 pm at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church, “free” with a suggested donation benefitting UNICEF.  Just follow the sound of the spooky organ music.  And remember to top off your afternoon with a “treat” from MORA Ice Cream on Madrone Lane. MORA will be serving up their annual Bainbridge Schools Foundation Halloween fundraiser with free ice cream scooped by a host of Bainbridge Island’s favorite school teachers.

Visit WILLOWTREE Market for Halloween Photos with Nick Felkey! Photos are free with a donation to Helpline House. Any donations are welcome; they are especially in need of jams, jellies, cereals, cooking oil, chili, and hearty soups. Families who have a photo taken that day will have access to a free online digital print, and prints will also be available for purchase.

Need a costume for your little one? Get yours now during the HALLOWEEN COSTUME SWAP AT KIDIMU. Go green and easy on your wallet this Halloween, and find your costume at KiDiMu! Kids Discovery Museum will host its annual Costume Swap, October 1 – 30. KiDiMu members, visitors, and the public at large are invited to donate any gently used children’s Halloween costumes, costume pieces and accessories, and exchange them for something new (or “new-to-you”).  Costume drop-off or pickup only is also welcome; available daily during hours of operation. Visit their website for more information. picture1
