Chilly Hilly: Bainbridge Island’s Biggest Bike Ride

Chilly Hilly has been kicking off the cycling season in the Northwest on the last Sunday in February for the past 40 years. Join us on Sunday, Feb. 24, for the ride Bicycling Magazine named “One of Four Classic Rides” in the nation! Guaranteed to be hilly, probably chilly and always a heck of a lot of fun. Friends of the Farms sponsors and organizes the annual Harvest Fair at Johnson Farm on Bainbridge Island. This educational and fun event brings our community together to celebrate, appreciate and nurture local farming.  Not just for the kids, Harvest Fair encourages everyone to take a day and join us on the farm.

Some of the activities include wagon rides, hay jumping, pie eating contests and sheep shearing demonstrations….. or bring you own apples and learn how to make cider!

Join us at the annual Friends of the Farms’ Harvest Fair. Donations at the entry support the event, as well as Friends of the Farms’ work throughout the year.

Bainbridge Kiwanis Summer Bike Challenge

On Sunday, August 26th The Bainbridge Island Kiwanis are hosting the annual Summer Challenge Bike Ride around Bainbridge Island. There are three courses available: The 16 mile Family Challenge, the 34 mile Summer Challenge, and the 52 mile Hill Climber’s Challenge. The course is similar to February’s Chilly Hilly, though hopefully with slightly warmer weather. Free ice cream will be offered at the end of the course! Money raised through the registration fees will go towards a variety of programs that the Kiwanis support including programs for children through Helpline House, youth summer camp scholarships, Bainbridge High School Jazz Choir & much, much more.
Adult registration is $30, junior registration (15 & under) is $15, & family registration is $70. Online registration is open through Saturday, August 25th & you can also register in person the day of the race.
