After shopping for the garden, learn more about how to tend to it with a series of free lectures that include:

  • 10:30 am: Spicing Up the Garden with Late Summer Color, by Dan Hinkley, co-founder and current Garden Director at Heronswood.
  • Noon: Perfect Plant Combos for Every Garden. Learn the rules of garden design and plant combinations that will help you create a garden worthy of a magazine! By Nita-Jo Rountree, garden designer and educator.
  • 1:30 pm: Hydrangea Relatives for the Pacific Northwest. Learn which hydrangea varieties thrive in the this area, whether potted or in the ground, and which types to distinctly avoid. By Dan Hinkley, co-founder and current Garden Director at Heronswood.

All lectures are free to attend, but seating is limited and is provided on a first-come-first-served basis. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of each lecture to secure tickets.

Entrance to the plant sale and lectures are free. A $10 fee to tour the garden goes directly towards its upkeep and maintenance.
